14th March 2019
On 13th March Chancellor Philip Hammond spoke of fulfilling the aspirations of the next generation in terms of Housing and the environment.
In his speech the Chancellor announced “a new £3 billion Affordable Homes Guarantee scheme, to support delivery of around 30,000 affordable homes”. This will come as welcome news to those waiting to take their first step on the property ladder.
The Chancellor continued, with the announcement of “a Future Homes Standard, mandating the end of fossil-fuel heating systems in all new houses from 2025, aimed at “delivering lower carbon – and lower fuel bills too”.
The Future Homes Standard offers exciting opportunities for energy efficiency systems such as the Showersave. Showersave will reduce the demand for energy, specifically domestic hot water, as a result of recovering the energy we throw down the drain while showering.
Showersave first introduced the concept of waste water heat recovery to the UK market more than ten years ago and with the Government’s focus on delivering lower carbon and lower fuel bills made clear today, our ambitious vision to have Showersave installed in every new build by 2020, may soon start becoming a reality.
