At Showersave, we’re proud to be taking part in our Miles That Matter challenge throughout 2026, bringing colleagues together across all three of our branches while raising money for some fantastic local charities. This year, our teams have set themselves an ambitious goal: to collectively walk the distance between our offices – an impressive 1,122 miles.

The challenge has already taken us across Northern Ireland, the Netherlands, and England, with plenty of memorable moments along the way. From themed fancy-dress walks to taking part in klootschieten, a traditional Dutch sport where teams throw lead balls (kloten) around a course in as few throws as possible, the challenge has been filled with fun, teamwork, and friendly competition.

While we’re enjoying every step of the journey, the challenge is about more than just exercise. It’s an opportunity to improve our wellbeing, strengthen team spirit, and raise vital funds for causes that make a real difference in our local communities.

Our Progress So Far

To date, the Miles That Matter challenge has achieved:

  • 35 team members taking part
  • 27 miles completed
  • 73 miles still to go
  • £720 / €680 raised in donations

The Charities We’re Supporting

All funds raised will support three fantastic local charities:

  • Team GB: South Derbyshire CVS
  • Team NI: Pretty ’n’ Pink
  • Team Dutch: Stichting Kinderkampen

At the end of 2026, the total amount raised will be split equally between the three charities.

Team Northern Ireland: Pretty n Pink

Fundraising | JustGiving

We’ve set up a dedicated GB Showersave JustGiving page, and Holland Fundraising Page where colleagues, partners, friends, and family can sponsor our walkers and support the cause.

Every donation, big or small, helps us maximise the impact of every mile walked.

What Happens Next?

After each walk, we’ll be sharing updates as our miles total increases and our fundraising grows.

Thank you for supporting Miles That Matter and helping us make a difference—one mile at a time.
